India Today News shows that the Tamil Nadu government has announced a total lockdown from May 10-24 amid a surge in COVID-19 cases. The order was issued a day after the state recorded its biggest day spike of over 26,000 new Covid cases.
The sudden covid storm is wreaking havoc in the region. The 5 states in southern India are witnessing a massive spike amongst which the worst-impacted is Karnataka with nearly 50,000 cases each day.
