CBC News shows that Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said for the first time Thursday that the province is in the third wave of the pandemic. He also said in the race between vaccination and coronavirus variants, the variants are winning.
When a virus replicates or makes copies of itself, it sometimes changes a little bit, which is normal for a virus. These changes are called so-called "mutations." A virus with one or more new mutations is referred to as a "variant" of the certain original virus.
