As with other developed nations, the country's economy is dominated by the service industry which employs about three quarters of Canadians. Canada has the 3rd highest total estimated value of natural resources, valued at US$33.2 trillion in 2019. It has the world's 3rd largest proven petroleum reserves and is the 4th largest exporter of petroleum. It is also the 4th largest exporter of natural gas. Canada is considered an "energy superpower" due to its abundant natural resources and a small population of 37 million inhabitants relative to its land area.
Out of all the countries, China has the most natural resources estimated at $23 trillion. 90% of the country's resources consist of coal and rare earth metals.

Canada pledges to cut emissions by at least 40% by 2030.
Canada will 'blow past' its previous target of a 30 per cent reduction from 2005 levels by 2030, PM says.
Canada has certainly long maintained it would slash emissions by 30 per cent by 2030. That would mean lowering GHG emissions from 732 megatonnes to 513 megatonnes. A megatonne is a million tonnes.
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are produced when hydrocarbons, such as natural gas and oil, are burned. GHGs include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane, nitrous oxide and ozone, all of which contribute to climate change.
Canada's vaccine rollout going 'as planned'
After various delays in the past, it seems that Canada's vaccine rollout going 'as planned' right now. As many Canadians struggle to make an appointment to get their Covid-19 vaccine, federal officials say despite a few snags the roll out is going as planned.
Some may have wondered about how long the Covid-19 vaccine lasts. So far, Pfizer's ongoing trial indicates the company's two-dose vaccine remains highly effective for at least six months, and likely longer. People who got Moderna's vaccine also still had notable levels of virus-fighting antibodies six months after the second required shot.
More than 11,485,302 doses of approved COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across Canada.

Scientists Have Found Out That a 9th Planet Exists, but Something Strange Is Happening
TheSimplySpace on Youtube shows that the technical advances of recent years have not stopped at the field of astronomy. Gigantic discoveries such as the first photo of a black hole show that there are still numerous unexplored objects and phenomena in our universe. According to extrapolations by astrophysicists, there are probably as many as 100 billion galaxies in space and an equally large number of planets in the Milky Way alone, whose existence we have not yet learned of.
Some science out there is pseudoscience. The word pseudoscience is derived from the Greek root pseudo meaning false and the English word science, from the Latin word scientia, meaning "knowledge". Pseudoscience consists of statements, beliefs, or practices that claim to be both scientific and factual but are incompatible with the scientific method.
Some people may believe that a 9th planet exists in our solar system. Our solar system consists of our star, the Sun, and everything bound to it by gravity - the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, dwarf planets such as Pluto, dozens of moons and millions of asteroids, comets and meteoroids.
Planet 9 (Nine) is a hypothetical planet in the outer region of the Solar System. Its gravitational effects could explain the unusual clustering of orbits for a group of extreme so-called trans-Neptunian objects (ETNOs), bodies beyond Neptune that orbit the Sun at distances averaging more than 250 times that of the Earth. These ETNOs tend to make their closest approaches to the Sun in one sector, and their orbits are similarly tilted. These alignments suggest that an undiscovered planet may be shepherding the orbits of the most distant known Solar System objects. Nonetheless, some astronomers indeed question the idea that the hypothetical planet exists and instead assert that the clustering of the ETNOs orbits is due to observing biases, resulting from the difficulty of discovering and tracking these objects during much of the year.
Based on earlier considerations, this hypothetical super-Earth-sized planet would have had a predicted mass of 5 to 10 times that of the Earth, and an elongated orbit 400 to 800 times as far from the Sun as the Earth. Konstantin Batygin and Michael E. Brown suggested that Planet Nine could be the core of a giant planet that was ejected from its original orbit by Jupiter during the genesis of the Solar System. Others proposed that the planet was captured from another star, was once a rogue planet, or that it formed on a distant orbit and was pulled into an eccentric orbit by a passing star.
The section of the universe, which humans can see, resembles a tiny puzzle piece, which is put together by researchers for centuries piece by piece. Not even the solar system known to us has been completely explored, as can be seen from the discovery of the possible dwarf planet Farout only two years ago or the discussion about a gas in the atmosphere of Venus that could indicate life. For several years, researchers have also speculated about the possibility of another planet in our solar system. Since Pluto's planetary status was revoked, eight have been counted among them. Newest research results from California let astronomy enthusiasts now again strongly listen: There is actually a mathematical proof for the ninth planet in our solar system!
In August 2006, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) downgraded the status of Pluto to that of "dwarf planet." This means that from now on only the rocky worlds of the inner Solar System and the gas giants of the outer system will be designated as planets.
5 Theories About What Lies Outside The Observable Universe
TheSimplySpace on Youtube shows that about 13.75 billion years ago, our universe as we know it was created.
Keep in mind, the Big Bang theory is the prevailing cosmological model of the observable universe from the earliest known periods through its subsequent large-scale evolution. The model describes how the universe expanded from an initial state of high density and temperature.
Shortly after the universe was created, the primordial light began to shoot through the cosmos and spread throughout the entire early universe. At this time the universe itself also expanded. However, the inflation of the universe slowed down after the first initial eruption, but since then the rate of expansion has been steadily increasing due to the influence of increasing dark energy. In essence, the cosmos has been growing at an ever-increasing rate since its creation.
Physicists and mathematicians certainly have been studying the nature of the universe for hundreds of years, trying to solve the mysteries it contains. But there are some scientists who go one step further into the unknown by thinking about what lies beyond the boundaries of our universe. Is it possible that there is something else beyond the existence of our universe? Other universes, worlds whose existence we can only guess at? That could well be the case. These are the 5 theories in the video about what this "something" could be and what clues there are for the various theories.

Black Hole or Cosmic Light Switch?
ThunderboltsProject on Youtube shows that a new scientific paper describes an unprecedented and so-called "mind boggling" event around a so-called black hole - an event so rapid, energetic and completely unexpected to astronomers, it challenges the very bedrock of black hole theory.
A team of scientists studying an active galactic nucleus observed the brightness of a so-called black hole corona drop by a factor of 10,000 in less than one year. A co-author of a new paper on the discovery stated, "We expect that luminosity changes this big should vary on timescales of many thousands to millions of years. But in this object, we saw it change by 10,000 over a year, and it even changed by a factor of 100 in eight hours, which is just totally unheard of and really mind-boggling."

Extracts First Oxygen from Mars: NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover
iGadgetPro on Youtube shows that Oxygen on Mars was generated by Perseverance Rover’s MOXIE instrument (first results).
On April 21, 2021, NASA confirmed Perseverance Rover’s MOXIE generated Oxygen on Mars for the first time. Test took place April 20, the 60th Martian day of Perseverance Rover. First MOXIE experiment allowed Perseverance to generate about 6 grams of Oxygen. It is enough for human to breathe for about 10 minutes while accomplishing normal tasks.
Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment (MOXIE) accomplished the task to generate Oxygen O2 from Mars’s carbon dioxide CO2 atmosphere. After an hour of operation the total oxygen produced was about 5.4 grams, enough to keep an astronaut healthy for about 10 minutes of normal activity. Mars’ atmosphere is 96% carbon dioxide. MOXIE works by separating oxygen atoms from carbon dioxide molecules, which are made up of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms. A waste product, carbon monoxide, is emitted into the Martian atmosphere. MOXIE’s shield is made of gold.

Mars Geology Gets Even "Weirder"
ThunderboltsProject shows that in recent months, according to a number of scientific reports, the dusty winds and sand dune formations on the planet Mars have grown even more mysteries. In this episode, we explore why Electric Universe geology may hold the key to resolving both the mysterious processes in Mars' past, and those happening today.
Mars is the 4th planet from the Sun and the 2nd-smallest planet in the Solar System, being larger than only Mercury. In English, Mars carries the name of the Roman god of war and is often referred to as the "Red Planet". The latter refers to the effect of the iron oxide prevalent on Mars's surface, which gives it a reddish appearance distinctive among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye. Mars is certainly a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, with surface features reminiscent of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts and polar ice caps of Earth.
SpaceX Falcon Heavy beats out ULA Vulcan for NASA Moon rover launch
ENGINEERING TODAY on Youtube shows that SpaceX Falcon Heavy beats out ULA Vulcan for NASA Moon rover launch - Blue Origin human space flight.
It seems that SpaceX is winning the launch of NASA’s VIPER rover.
SpaceX will now launch NASA’s Moon rover to the lunar soil in 2023. This way SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket has effectively beaten out United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle from their way to get that launch contract. According to the contract, SpaceX will now send a NASA rover and commercial lander to the Moon. Astrobotic, a company which won NASA’s lander contract in CLPS program, had earlier announced that they contracted with ULA to launch their first small so-called "Peregrine" lander and numerous NASA payloads to the Moon in 2021. Astrobotic then had selected ULA’s Vulcan Centaur as their launch vehicle for the "Peregrine" lander.

Scientists find “strong evidence” for new mystery sub-atomic force of nature
BBC News shows that an international team of scientists, working on a project in the United States, say they have discovered strong evidence for the existence of a new force of nature.
They say some sub-atomic particles - called muons - don't behave in a way predicted by current theories of physics.
The British funders of the research say that scientists are "on the precipice of a new era of physics."
Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by science correspondent Pallab Ghosh.
The muon (from the Greek letter mu (μ) used to represent it) is an elementary particle similar to the electron, with an electric charge of −1 e and a spin of 1/2, but with a much greater mass. It is classified as a lepton.

Canada Federal Budget 2021 - CBC News special
CBC News shows how Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland delivers the Liberal government's first budget in 2 years.
In Canada, federal budgets are presented annually by the Government of Canada to identify planned government spending, expected government revenue, and forecast economic conditions for the upcoming year.
Federal budgets are usually released in February or March, before the start of the fiscal year. All of the provinces also present budgets. Since provincial finances are dependent on money from the federal government, these budgets are usually released after the federal one.
The budget is announced in the House of Commons by the Minister of Finance.

Federal Budget 2021: Canada’s debt set to cross $1 trillion as Liberals extend COVID-19 aid
Global News shows that the first federal budget in more than 2 years extends Ottawa’s COVID-19 so-called "lifeline" for workers and struggling businesses another few months as it aims to pull Canada through the pandemic once and for all.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland‘s first crack at a budget plan is also widely viewed as a pre-election platform with more than $100 billion in new spending over the next 3 years targeting a wide variety of voters, from seniors and their caregivers, to parents and business owners.
Canada pledges nearly $50B in spending in new budget
Global News shows that Chrystia Freeland delivered her first budget as finance minister on Monday and it included some big-ticket items. Spending in the budget document is nearly $50 billion and the federal deficit is expected to be about $354 billion. That will push the national debt past the $1 trillion mark for the first time. Global News’ David Akin has an overview of the government’s ambitious spending plan.
Governments can create debt by issuing government bonds and bills. Some countries may be able to borrow directly from a supranational organization (e.g. the World Bank) or international financial institutions.
Keep in mind, the Debt-to-GDP ratio compares a country's total debt to its total economic output. This ration is used to measure the country's ability to pay its debt. If the ratio is high, it indicates the country isn't producing enough to pay back its debts. A low ratio means the country is producing enough to pay back its debts.
It seems that there are countries in the world that are not in debt. Singapore and several other (very small) nations are debt-free.
Mars Helicopter Ingenuity's first Flight video (lift off and landing) - Science Loop
Science Loop on Youtube shows that Mars Ingenuity helicopter has made flight history!
NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter Succeeds in Historic First Flight
Monday, NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter became the first aircraft in history to make a powered, controlled flight on another planet. The Ingenuity team at the agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California confirmed the flight succeeded after receiving data from the helicopter via NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover at 6:46 a.m. EDT (3:46 a.m. PDT).
***Due to lack of time and information the quality and information of the video is not good enough.
There is also first image from Ingenuity's onboard camera during fly in Mars's atmosphere. NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter took this shot while hovering over the Martian surface on April 19, 2021.
NASA is calling the flight a "Wright Brothers moment" on the Red Planet Mars!
Mars Ingenuity helicopter is also Autonomous. It takes some time to communicate from Earth to Mars. Because of this time delay, we can not use joystick. That is why scientists made it Autonomous. Cool! Isn't it?
NASA's experimental helicopter Ingenuity certainly rose into the thin air above the dusty red surface of Mars planet on Monday, achieving the first powered flight by an aircraft on another planet.
The triumph was hailed as a "Wright brothers moment." The small mini 4-pound (1.8-kilogram) helicopter certainly succeeded.
The first flight was short (just 39 seconds) - but it accomplished a major milestone.
The $85 million USA helicopter demo was considered high risk yet high reward.
To accomplish the fascinating Mars flight, the helicopter's twin, counter-rotating rotor blades needed to spin at 2,500 revolutions per minute - 5 times faster than on Earth.
The helicopter has an excellent solar panel for recharging the batteries, crucial for its survival during the -90 C Martian nights.

Testing face masks: Lab tests reveal the safest and most effective
CBC News in Canada shows how effective are face masks. Months into the coronavirus pandemic there are still no standards or regulations for consumer masks. So, they asked the University of Toronto to test more than 20 different masks. They reveal which are the most effective at keeping you safe from COVID-19, and which masks you should avoid.
Keep in mind, the N95 or Professional-Grade Medical Mask N95 respirators and other professional-grade medical masks are carefully sized to form a tight seal between the air outside and the face. They are designed to protect healthcare workers from droplets in the air. Respirators are certainly highly effective when professionally fitted.
Fabric masks are really recommended to prevent onward transmission in the general population in public areas, particularly where distancing is not possible, and in areas of community transmission. This could include the school grounds in some situations. Masks may help to protect others, because wearers may be infected before symptoms of certain illness appear. The policy on wearing a mask or so-called face covering should be in line with national or local guidelines. Where used, masks should be worn, cared for and disposed of indeed properly.
Good fabric masks should be made of 3 layers of fabric:
Inner layer of absorbent material, such as cotton.
Middle layer of non-woven non-absorbent material, such as polypropylene.
Outer layer of non-absorbent material, such as polyester or polyester blend.
Types of Face Coverings:
Bandana
Homemade cloth mask
T-shirt mask
Store-bought cloth mask
Cloth masks with filter
Neck gaiters and balaclavas
Disposable surgical mask
Cone-style masks
N95, KN95 and other respirators
gas mask (a mask used to protect the wearer from inhaling airborne pollutants and toxic gases)

Canada: How the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting immigration to Canada
Global News shows that the Canadian government has pointed to immigration as essential to the country to recover economically from the coronavirus pandemic, but some experts say that’s a misleading argument with high numbers of jobless people in the country.
But the federal government has recently announced a new program to expedite 90,000 immigration applications for essential workers as part of its goal to bring in 1.2 million immigrants in the next 3 years.
Experts say there will be a surge of immigration to Canada as the world recovers from the coronavirus pandemic, but as Mike Drolet reports, the application processing might take months or years to clear.
Immigration to Canada is the process by which people migrate to Canada for the purpose of residing there - and where a majority go on to become Canadian citizens. As of 2019, Canada has the eighth largest immigrant populations in the world, while foreign-born people make up about one-fifth (21% in 2019) of Canada’s population. This is certainly one of the highest ratios for industrialized Western countries.

Scary Earthquake Footage Compilation From Around The World
This is fascinating - Scary Earthquake Footage.
Most earthquakes are naturally occurring earthquakes.
There are three types of faults:
A. Strike-slip
B. Normal
C. Reverse
Tectonic earthquakes occur anywhere in the earth where there is sufficient stored elastic strain energy to drive fracture propagation along a fault plane. The sides of a fault move past each other smoothly and aseismically only if there are no irregularities or asperities along the fault surface that increase the frictional resistance. Most fault surfaces do have such asperities, which leads to a form of stick-slip behavior.
The so-called stick-slip phenomenon, also known as the slip-stick phenomenon or simply stick-slip, is the spontaneous jerking motion that can occur while 2 objects are sliding over each other.

In its most general sense, the word earthquake is used to describe any seismic event (whether natural or caused by humans)that generates seismic waves. Earthquakes are caused mostly by rupture of geological faults but also by other events such as volcanic activity, landslides, mine blasts, and nuclear tests. An earthquake's point of initial rupture is called its hypocenter or focus. The epicenter is certainly the important point at ground level directly above the hypocenter.

The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (福島第一原子力発電所, Fukushima Daiichi Genshiryoku Hatsudensho) is a disabled nuclear power plant located on a 3.5-square-kilometre (860-acre) site in the certain towns of Ōkuma and Futaba in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. The plant suffered major damage from the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, 2011. The chain of events caused radiation leaks and permanently damaged several reactors, making them impossible to restart - it seems. By political decision, the remaining reactors were not restarted.
