This is pretty funny - Elephant vs. Watermelon. The elephant is strong here. Valli the temple elephant sure eats a football-sized watermelon gobstopper at Skanda Vale.
This is the first time I saw elephant tongue and I like it. This is really a strong animal. Some people worry about the elephant choking on the melon. Probably elephants would not have a problem with it. It seems that all elephants have a sweet tooth so they go crazy for a sweet fruit like a melon. Elephant jaws are pretty powerful. They crush the watermelon with no difficulties. The elephant here positions the watermelon properly to crush it. Elephants also use their tongues to stop it from going down their throat before it’s crushed.
An elephant would break bones if it bites down on a human. It is a powerful animal. Elephants can bite (how else would they chew their food). Typically, elephants won’t use their bite to win in a fight. Usually, elephant teeth are good for eating leaves. Perhaps to crush an opponent is the elephant's winning strategy.
There have been cases where elephants bite humans and break their bones. Also, an elephant's trunk can reduce a human hand to a pulpy mash of flesh and broken bone.
An elephant's trunk has 8 major muscles on either side and 150,000 muscle bundles in all. It is so strong that it can push down trees and lift a amazing 700,000 pounds.
In brute strength, elephants are the strongest mammals and the strongest land animals. African elephants can weigh up to 6,350kg and they can carry up to 9,000kg, the weight of about 130 adult humans.
Elephant Armies Built the Ancient World. Elephants can be used in construction.
Elephants were still used in WWI. For example, an elephant pulled some heavy equipment in Sheffield, England.
In Asia and India elephants are used in construction to help carry materials.
