Fortunately, shares of Uber (NYSE:UBER) gained 20% in May 2020. The stock gains have much to do with "better than expected" first-quarter sales. There is also the direction of the wider market. However, for the month of June 2020, uber stock decreased. The ride-sharing market seems to be rebounding from challenges created by the novel coronavirus Covid-19. Uber company is sure trying to increase Uber market share. Some of the top competitors of Uber are: Lyft, Ola, DiDi, Grab, Bolt, Yandex.Taxi, Gett, Curb, Bird and LimeRoad.
Many customers are thinking about whether to use Uber or Lyft. Uber stock (NYSE: UBER) did fall (as many other stocks also fell) since early February after the WHO declared the Coronavirus Covid-19 a global health emergency. Lyft stock (NASDAQ: LYFT) fell even worse than Uber at that time. The spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19 Pandemic certainly had a negative impact on the global stock market and on the ride-sharing market.
More people became confined to their houses because of lockdowns. Some people became more fearful about sharing rides with other people. Uber Eats has continued to create food deliveries through the pandemic. Customers could tell drivers to stay far away and distance themselves. Packages of food could be left near the door.
Uber certainly has better exposure to international markets than Lyft. Uber seems to have outperformed through the pandemic situation. Lyft has a relatively cheaper valuation.

As of 2019, Uber was estimated to have over 110 million worldwide uber users. ReplyDeleteUber is a ridesharing company that operates in over 785 metropolitan areas worldwide. Uber offers peer-to-peer ridesharing, food delivery, bicycle-sharing and ride-hailing.

Amazingly, Uber has completed more than 5 billion rides worldwide. Uber fulfills 40 million rides per month in the USA alone. Uber is currently available in more than 85 countries globally worldwide. However, there are several popular tourist countries where Uber is really not available. Check the official Uber website if you want to be sure which transportation destinations can be created.
Here are some of the countries where Uber is available:
China
It seems that Uber is no longer available in China as of last year. However, China has its own ride-hailing app (called Didi Chuxing) or "Didi" for short. Didi's interface will look similar to what Uber or Lyft looks like. Didi successfully phased out Uber's global app late last year in China. This forced people to download the Uber China app if they wanted to continue using the service.
India
There is Uber in India. However, it is not available completely everywhere. There are differences about how it works in India. In India, Uber drivers seem to work full-time. By the rules, private vehicles can't be used as Uber cabs unless they secure a transport vehicle permit (some USA cities require this taxi registration, also). Both Uber and Ola are popular in India. Ola Cabs is a fascinating Indian ridesharing company offering services that include peer-to-peer ridesharing, ride service hailing, taxi and fast food delivery.
United States of America

Turkey
Uber's business could be finished in Turkey. Some people called for Uber to be banned in Turkey. Make sure you check if it is still available and get updated information on this. Istanbul taxi drivers called for Uber to be banned. There seems to be a conflict between taxi drivers and Uber drivers.
