Toronto Zoo: Giant Panda vs Snowman
Toronto Zoo Keepers made giant panda Da Mao a snowman for entertainment. Watch as he plays with, or rather disassembles, their creation. The snow man is taken apart, bit by bit. The Panda sure seems to be having lots of fun. This is pretty amazing.
The giant panda is also known as the panda bear. It can be simply called the panda. It is a bear native to south central China. It has large, black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body. The name "giant panda" is sometimes used to distinguish it from the red panda, a neighboring musteloid. A musteloid, in zoology, is any of many mammals of the superfamily Musteloidea, including the weasels, raccoons, red pandas, and skunks.
The giant panda is considered a pretty powerful symbol in the world when it comes to species conservation. In China, the giant panda is considered a national treasure. For WWF, the panda has been the organization’s symbol since 1961.
This peaceful, bamboo-eating member of the bear family was once certainly widespread throughout Southern and Eastern China, as well as neighbouring Myanmar (Burma) and Northern Vietnam.
