Brazil's Coronavirus Death Toll: 2nd Highest in the World

Brazil's large coronavirus death toll is now the world's second highest. Brazil's Coronavirus Covid-19 death toll certainly overtook Britain's on Friday to become the second highest in the world. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that Brazil's health system was standing up to the pressure.

Many experts are also warning that the actual number of coronavirus cases in Latin America's biggest economy could be many times larger. As of late 2010, Brazil's economy is the largest in Latin America. Brazil's economy is the second largest in the Americas. From 2000 to 2012, Brazil was one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world. In that time period, Brazil had an average annual GDP growth rate of over 5%.

The situation in Brazil remains greatly concerning. However, intensive care bed occupancy rates are now below 80 percent in most areas of the country. Many think that, overall, the health system is still coping in Brazil. However, it remains to be seen what happens in the future of this pandemic.

Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro once described the Coronavirus Covid-19 as a "little flu." It has now become a major health crisis for Brazil. Unfortunately, now Brazil has the second-highest number of deaths from COVID-19 in the world.
