Canada, B.C.: Coronavirus Covid-19 deaths: 58
British Columbia's provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry updated Canadians on Saturday regarding the province's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Henry reported 35 new positive COVID-19 cases. This brings the total to 1,445. She also announced three new virus-related deaths, and stressed the importance of staying home and avoiding unnecessary travel during the Easter weekend.
British Columbia Province is working with the Mission Institution correctional facility to manage an outbreak that has affected 26 of its staff and inmates, five of whom are hospitalized.
Non-essential stores that have not closed are receiving penalties.
