Coronavirus: Germany raises threat level from 'moderate' to 'high'

DW News describes well what is going on with Germany. The Robert Koch Institute has changed its COVID-19 threat risk for Germany from "moderate" to "high." The pandemic is a big threat. It's possible that the pandemic and some imposed restrictions could last for two years.

The RKI also warned that an increasing number of COVID-19 infections cannot be traced back to certainly known cases. Germany currently has over 7,500 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 20 deaths.

Germany has a low coronavirus death rate compared to other countries. Germany's numbers from the Covid-19 virus have puzzled scientists as nearby countries record high death tolls.

It seems that Germany has a fatality rate of just 0.2 per cent, compared to 7.9 per cent in Italy. This raises hopes Germany might be doing something right that other countries can follow.

Some even made allegations of a German cover-up. Some think that Germany may be at an earlier stage of the pandemic, and that German death rates may soon catch up.
