Aug 31, 2019: Kennedy Space Center Moves Tower Indoors Ahead of Hurricane Dorian

There are interesting things you can see at Kennedy Space Center, Florida: Saturn V Rocket, Space Center Bus Tour, Rocket Garden, U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, Space Shuttle Atlantis and meet an astronaut. NASA’s Kennedy Space Center’s large Mobile Launcher Tower is being moved indoors to protect it from Hurricane Dorian. The hurricane is expected to hit Florida and the area early next week. This tower is 400 feet (121 metres) tall. It should not be left outside. The Mobile Launcher Tower supports NASA's Space Launch System. The outdoor launchpad was performing tests to send astronauts to the moon in 2024.

Hurricane Dorian reached Category 3 strength Friday afternoon, with winds of 185 kilometres per hour. This ominous storm is marching toward the Bahamas. It will hit Florida beyond early next week.
